Hello, traveler
Some call me moendopi.
More stuff will appear here soon.
I do plan on adding stuff here, but a lot more will show up on my Gemini page first.
I will say I am glad to be here and that you all have a Gemini server. Huzzah!
I plan to add some rambles, exploration of a character I've created, weird short stories,
code/project stuff, etc.
Be forewarned: It might get weird. But not too weird.
I'll be slowly build this page out as I learn more HTML/CSS. I plan on messing around with some Perl stuff,
possible, OCaml, probably definitely Elm (so I can skip the HTML, CSS, and especially Javascript).
For now, if you're interested in the weird stuff I have going on you can visit my Gemini Capsule here:

I also work with geospatial, mostly QGIS, and I am in the process of working on some GeMS (USGS) tools.
I've been wanting to port some of the necessary tools from the ArcGIS "Pro" version that are the standard
over to QGIS. I know a bit of Python and I already have some things made, but I need to do more work on getting
them to be a little more offical. By that I mean, into the class based template QGIS uses so your code can better
fit into the GUI.
If any one is familiar with parsing XML documents, please message me. I am thinking about making a standalone program
in Python, or Perl (I'd prefer this) to parse XML metadata documents and run through a list of points that need to be
present - a validation script. Currently this only work in ArcMap/ArcGIS "Pro". I have issues with a schema that is supposed
to be for making data and data releases for the public only work in a propreitary software.
Currently the entire schema only works (fully) in Arc "Pro" and I am wanting to make the entire process of making a geologic map in QGIS using the GeMS Schema possible from the beginning stages all the way to the end where it is accepted and published. If none of that makes sense, but you're curious, feel free to message me. There aren't a lot of folks I currently work with who are experienced, or have the time and skills, to work on this problem. I probably feel too strongly about this but if you use and prefer FOSS, then you probably know where I am coming from.
