Welcome to the about me or introduction page for Marcus Wilson. Everything asks for your website these days, and I'm not good at regularly updating things. This page should give a good snapshot of who I am and what I'm into for at least a few years. My big interests are GNU/Linux, Open Source Software, electronic music, and stand-up comedy. I work for a large tech company in Austin, TX doing a mix of programming and systems administration. I like to say I'm an IT Janitor for my team because I frequently am going around and cleaning up computer messes. One of my favorite hobbies is going to Linux centric or Free Software themed conferences and events.
I actually started off majoring in computer science, but I knew right away I wasn't going to stay with it. It was because I had this one professor who was the loneliest, saddest man I've ever known. He was a programmer, and I knew that I didn't want to do whatever he did.
I host a show called News to Me Monday-Friday 19:00 UTC on Anonradio.net It's 30 minutes covering a few news stories that might have been missed by others, and a few songs that fit the mood.
I host an electronic music radio show on Sundays at 00:00 UTC on Tilderadio.org What makes this show special is that I am playing only Creative Commons Licensed Music. It's a fun time if you like electronica. If a concurrent time slot opens up on the schedule I may start simulcasting to SDF also.
